When Kari Wuhrer was only thirteen years old she was already studying acting and auditioning. Because she was already in New York it was hardly a problem for her to be noticed and get signed to the Ford modeling agency. In 1984 she was cast in Fire with Fire working opposite Virginia Madsen. Kari Wuhrer attended New York Universities Drama Department and continued on to London where she was schooled at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.
